Nautipaints were commissioned in 2013 at Astilleros to apply a full paint system on board MY Sanora – 1994, 44M Feadship. The project included the complete correction of any corrosion areas, hard sand and build up before fairing, 545 and top coat application.
Without going into the specifics of the procedure employed by Nautipaints I can confidently state that all the stages of the painting process were completed correctly and efficiently by their team. Wrede consulting were employed on behalf of MY Sanora to oversee the critical stages of the painting process and at no time was the surveyor concerned with the practises of the Nautipaints team and often stated that he was very happy with their work.
The project commenced on the 2nd, January 2013 and was efficiently completed on the 15th, April 2013. Following the completion however, Nautipaints did continue to correct small areas in the following month to the satisfaction of Wrede consulting and myself. During this period I found Nautipaints to be extremely professional and fair with their appraisal of works that we were not 100% pleased with.
At a time when many vessels have had varying degrees of success with the newer Awl-Grip formulas I have concluded that the finish Nautipaints achieved on Sanora to be very good/excellent. Nautipaints provided an extremely competitive quote and a fantastic service throughout. Warranty works as per the contract was carried out without dispute with both parties finding an agreeable satisfaction balance.
With the paint system now two and half years old I can happily state that the DOI and gloss to still be good/very good in all areas.
I wish the Nautipaints team continued success in their field and look forward to working with them again.
